How to Get Rid of Fleas on My Cats Face With Frontline?
I just used the frontline tonight along with vacumming and washing everything. I know i must give it time, but here's my question. My littlest cat, i see lots of fleas by her eye's and around her face. How will they get to the frontline, or the frontline get to them to do the job? We did give out cats baths, but my husband didn't do their face for fear of getting water in their ears.

Frontline is absolved into the oil glands on the body then excreted all over the body by the glands. It doesn't enter the body or bloodstream at all but stays on the surface of the skin. It takes time & I would use a flea comb on their faces & remove the fleas as much as you can. Frontline cn take up 24 hr before all the fleas are dead & hopefully you waited the 48 hr after bath before applying or else it won't be as effective.
its ok...if you used the frontline it will kill the fles over the entire body,it goes into the bloodstream of the animal. it will just take a day or two.
I used to sit down on the floor with the animal in a comfortable position and squeeze each flea between the tips of my thumbnails. It takes practice to be able to kill the little critters without pinching kitty. I would have a damp paper towel beside me to gather the dead/dying fleas. The Frontline is absorbed into the cat's skin and should do the trick eventually, but I can understand you wanting to get them off kitty's face now. Good hunting.
Just let the Frontline do it's job. Don't give the cat a bath after applying it..that only washes the medication off. Go out and get a cheap flea comb before the stores close. They make little plastic ones that are good for doing around the face..just be careful around the eyes. You can use a warm moist paper towel or cotton pad to clean the cats eyes.
EXCUSE ME but never put any medicines on animals faces as it will and can get in the eyes and they'll go blind.Put the front by the back of the neck and in the middle of the back so it cannot be licked off' and it will go in the skin faster and start working 5 minutes later.Did the vet or the store not tell you how much to use and where to put it as you can also over dose your animals if the wrong dose is given. EDIT i have used advantage on rescued cats who i have taken home and with a dose of it they are already dieing and needs no baths or other things and if still if many are around them in 3 days do another dose as it kills eggs and fleas.
The Frontline Plus isn't supposed to enter the bloodstream (it hides in the sebaceous glands), but it does distribute itself over the entire animal. That, combined with the fact that the fleas on her face do crawl to other areas on you cat will kill them. You don't have to specially treat the cat's face.
Another product that is available is Capstar. This is an oral tablet (in this case, the flea medication IS in the bloodstream) that will kill off every adult flea on your cat within about 4 hours. The effect lasts about 24-48 hours - it's good to use for instant flea relief while you wait the 48 hours for Frontline to take full effect.
However, you mentioned bathing the cat. Bathing can interfere with the Frontline's efficacy at two specific times - otherwise the Frontline is waterproof as advertised.
#1) If you bathe the cat 24 hours or less BEFORE application, the Frontline won't spread over the cat like it should - any lingering dampness will interfere with the product.
#2) If you bathe your cat 48 hours or less AFTER application, you will wash off a lot of the Frontline - it's only waterproof after it's completely dry.
So if the bath happened during one of the above times, call your vet and see if another application might be worthwhile.
