Is Frontline Flea Medicine for Cats Dangerous if a Dog Eats It?

You wake up one morning and the sun is shining and you’re sitting down for that first cup of coffee of the day. You take a sip while you flip open the morning paper but suddenly realize that your pet has not found it necessary to say good morning to you yet.

You get up from the table and go to look for them and you find them at their blankets scratching themselves uncontrollably. It’s happened. You have uninvited guests in the house in the form of fleas or ticks on your pet. The silent little buggers have decided to move in and invite themselves to a meal. Unfortunately they are feasting on your pet.

At this point in time the natural reaction is to go nuts and wonder how the heck it happened. In reality it’s now time to figure out what to do. Besides these pests making your pets uncomfortable, you don’t want them harming them to a point of skin or even worse a life threatening disease.

With the advent of many different products available to “so they say” rid your pets of these pests which one really works. I have tried many different products but the one I favor more than any other is Frontline Plus®. This product will very quickly address a problem and help prevent any potential future ones.

It happens to have the good housekeeping seal of approval and is rated as the #1 choice of veterinarians because it works on effectively fighting both Fleas and Ticks. After extensive testing the product manufacturer, Merial, has shown the following results:

It killed 100% of the Fleas within 12 hours It continued to do so for up to one month after initial application It can be used on pups and kittens over 8 weeks old, and on cats and dogs even if they are breeding, pregnant or lactating Another really big plus for a lot of pet owners is the fact that it is waterproof. The application doesn’t lose its effectiveness after you groom or bathe the animal. And it stills works after swimming. Breaks the Flea and Tick cycle you read about so often. This is probably the most important result of all. Otherwise a lot of hard work can be wasted on a month to month basis if you don’t stop the pests from re-infesting your pet.

For me, when the kids were growing up the child-proof packaging was good to have on the product. Having it applied in one quick application is also a great help. You open up the product, a neat little plastic applicator, by snapping back the top. Once you are ready you separate the pet’s hair and apply it directly to their skin.

The product works by remaining in the oil glands under the surface of the skin. By doing so it stays available to be administered continuously to the whole surface of the skin and then out to the strands of hair. This is what keeps the prevention cycle going and does a great job.

The other added benefit I feel is the fact it goes after Fleas and Ticks and provides a total program of Flea and Tick Control in one product. Other manufacturers products I’m sure work well but only on the specific problem for which they are purchased.

Products like Advantage or Advantix work well, but are for either Fleas or Ticks, not both. Frontline Plus is the most effective product I have found and it also kills the flea larvae and eggs.

My pets, both dogs and cats have never had any reactions and thankfully never any ticks or fleas. I feel that having a good program of prevention using this product and checking them frequently during the high incidences of flea and tick weather keeps them protected.

Responsible pet care is the cornerstone of a long and healthy life for you pet. Take this responsibility seriously and you’ll be glad you did and you’re pet will love you for it.

Thanks for reading.

Frontline Plus

As the warmer season approaches the number of fleas and ticks on your dogs start to rise! So, you start looking for fleas and ticks repellents, and soon you find out that the prices are quite high as well. You don't have time to wait for special discounts or sales on these products because the fleas are multiplying incessantly, and soon your poor dog is infested with hundreds of fleas (and your nice carpets and furniture too). Just gross!

Frontline plus is perhaps the most popular flea and tick repellent for dogs. The reason for that is that Frontline plus is highly effective repellent that will help get rid of fleas in 24 hours.

Click Frontline plus sale if you want to get this repellent for your dog or click Cheap Frontline for cats if you need it for your feline!

But, most pet owners find that Frontline plus is expensive. This is especially true if you decide to buy it in singular vials from your vet. Another solution is to buy bigger packages (for 3, 6 or 12 months) and to buy it on line. Be careful though, because now days there are a lot of counterfeit products out there! So be sure to buy it from a trusted seller.

There are several store that sell Frontline plus for dogs on line, like Petco.com, The DogSupply.com, DigItPet.com, 1800PetMed.com, EntirelyPets.com, VetAmerica.com, Amazon.com. I did my research on line and found that the prices range from 59 $ to 90 $ for a 6 month supply (shipping included). There are several stores that offer free shipping (TheDogSupply.com, 1800PetMed.com) but in this case the product costs a little bit more.

Frontline plus can be applied in a simple 3-step procedure and then your dog is protected for the whole month. After you've apply it the fleas will star to be more active (because the repellent destroys their nervous system) which is a clear indication that Frontline is being effective.

Another thing to take into account is the time of the year when you're buying. I noticed that the prices tend to rise as we approach the warmer season (which is understandable because fleas enjoy the warm weather) and the demand rises. So, the sooner you'll get it the better the price will be.

Where to Look for a Frontline Plus Sale on Line?

Our two cats have fleas, and we just put Frontline on them last night. How long will it take to start working and killing off the fleas? I only ask because I was really disturbed this morning to see no less than three fleas crawling around on my poor kitty's face, and disappearing in his fur. Is there any other method of getting rid of fleas? I've heard that Dawn dish soap in a dog's bath will kill fleas instantly - would this work for cats, too?

How Long Does It Take for Frontline to Start Working on Cats?

If your cat is infested with fleas then you're certainly considering some sort of repellent. Frontline Plus by Merial is one of the most popular products on the market. Furthermore the product is recommended by veterinarians as an effective solution for fleas.

Now, let me tell you about my own experience with Frontline. I used Frontline four months ago on my cat Belinda (a beautiful tabby). A friend of mine found her wondering in the street so I took her in. The poor thing was in a miserable state; with hundreds of fleas crawling on her (she had worms too). So I took her to my vet who decided to apply Frontline plus on her. The application process was really quick and simple and as soon as the vet applied the product the fleas literally went wild. They were jumping, falling all over the table, and the vet told me that it's was a clear sign that the product was doing the job!

The next day my cat was "flea free"! I have to say I was relieved because I find them extremely repulsive (especially when I start to think how fast they multiply and lay eggs!). I forgot to say that Frontline killed all the ticks on my cat as well.

I was really satisfied with the whole operation and how efficient Frontline was, and its effects lasted for the whole month. The next time I need to apply Frontline I got it on line from a specialized pet store (through Amazon.com). Again, I was really content with its efficiency and with the price that was notably lower from the vet's price. I bought a 6 month supply (the 6 doses package) so now I'm set for a while. My cat didn't experience any allergic reaction to the product, so I must say that I find the right solution both for me and my Belinda.

I tried the Frontline spray too, on my carpet (it was infested with fleas too), and it solved the problem very quickly! Before doing my on line purchase I did an extremely thorough and wide research in order to find the best prices. You can really save a lot of money.
